I was commisioned by the Downtown Metuchen Alliance, in Metuchen NJ to create a “rug” design to create a partitioned space that was formerly two parking spaces and coordinate it with a mosaic “coffee table” and two benches. This area was created to be a nice oasis space for a cup of coffee or lunch on a nice day.
No! I didn’t make that Marilyn Monroe sculpture, (although it is pretty awesome), it’s actually part of the Seward Johnson collection at the Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ. There were many sculptures placed all over downtown Metuchen this past summer to draw people to the town center to enjoy a stroll and see some art. I was commissioned to create a backdrop for Marilyn at the Forum Theater and I created these theater curtains to give her that glamorous context she needed. I love how this turned out and I was honored to create this small work as a backdrop to this amazing piece of art.
I promise not to bombard you and only to tell you about good things when they happen.
